13 December, 2014: Students from Environmental Engineering
Fundamentals Course had visited "Dukan Water Treatment Project No 2"
loacted in Dukan area for conducting experimental lab work related to water
quality testing. The students were exposed and understood the step by step of
water rapid mixing, coagulation, sedimentation, filitration and purification,
disinfection and finally distribution. The students had seen the benefits of
other equipment such as turbines, pumps, sludge treatment devices and how its
being used in water treatment plant. |

25.December, 2014: Students from Environmental Science and
Environmental Engineering courses visited open dumping area in Tanjaro for
practical part and saw how the waste is being treated there. Also, the negative
impacts of this kind of practicing in Solid waste management have been explained |

PAK Held a seminar on River pollution in
Kurdistan: PAK (Environmental student group held a seminar for Mr. Nabil Musa
(Iraq Upper Tigris Waterkeeper) about River pollution in Kurdistan. Two
documentaries about Choman and Rawanduz River Expedition campaign has been
shown. At the end of the seminar, PAK presented its appreciation letter to Mr.
Nabil for his great effort. |

As a part of KUST Student activity, PAK Group
(Environmental student group) conducted a seminar for Mr. Korosh Ararat under
the title "Biodiversity, Bird and Fauna Conservation in Kurdistan".
At the end of the seminar, KUST appreciated Mr. Aararats' participation. |
